Timothy Gareau Saint Colette Catholic Church, a vibrant, family-centered parish of 2,100 families in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio, seeks a passionate disciple of Jesus Christ to serve as its next Director of Music Ministry & Parish Life. Since our humble beginning in a neighborhood house, Saint Colette Catholic Church has grown exponentially in recent years, establishing a vital Catholic presence in Brunswick, Ohio - helping families grow in their relationship with the Lord. We as a parish are focused on communion with Jesus Christ, being an inviting home for individuals and families, Eucharistic Worship, and inspiring saints in our community. We have been blessed with many generous parishioners, dedicated priests, and committed volunteers who strive to help each other grow in holiness and serve the spiritual needs of our parishioners and larger community. Brunswick, Ohio is the most populated city in Medina County. We are very grateful for our community, which includes many who have worshipped here for nearly 50 years, since the founding of the parish in 1977. The Director of Music Ministry and Parish Life is responsible for supporting liturgical and sacramental encounters of our parish, as well as collaborating to fulfill needs - detailed below - relating to Parish Life. They will create an environment that celebrates the beauty of the Churchs liturgical and musical heritage by serving at weekend Masses, Weddings, Funerals, and other liturgical events.The Director of Music Ministry and Parish Life will: Prepare for all liturgical celebrations throughout the Church year. Promote and maintain a cantor program, hiring and scheduling accompanying musicians. Be present at staff, liturgical planning, and other relevant meetings. Possess a command of technology and services that provide music and desktop publishing programs. Provide for maintenance of parish musical instruments and sound system. Maintain appropriate copyright licensing. Assist with oversight of parish events, supporting our family-centered, parish life Create internally imagined, high quality marketing material in support of parish events. Maintain and update the parish Facebook page and website. Aid in editing, organizing, proofreading, and publishing the weekly parish bulletin. Compile and present weekend Mass announcements. Maintain compliance with the Safe Environment policies, mandated by the Diocese of Cleveland. Discern other duties, in collaboration with the Pastor. TheDirector of Music Ministry and Parish Life will have: A deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith, living it authentically in their own life. A degree or equivalent certification in a musical discipline. Relevant professional or ministerial experience, especially leading other singers and musicians in liturgical settings Proficiency in playing piano and additional musical instruments is most welcomed and desired. Vocal proficiency and the ability to train others in this. Expertise with the Churchs liturgical calendar, our sacred music heritage, and administration in a parish setting.
