Position Responsibilities

• Key management position with overall responsibility for growth and development of the firm\xe2\x80\x99s public sector municipal utilities services in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana markets.
• Business development and account management. Increase the firm\xe2\x80\x99s visibility in the public sector water business through active participation in municipal and county organizations. Maintain frequent contact with clients and regulatory agency personnel to determine their respective needs and requirements.
• Provide the team with critical decision-making information and business intelligence on the local and regional infrastructure market to execute the business growth strategy, teaming discussions, go/no-go evaluation, and major proposal preparation.
• Staff hiring, evaluation, training, coaching, and mentoring to develop the team\xe2\x80\x99s overall capabilities for growth of talent and competitiveness.
• Design management and technical leadership guiding staff through all phases of basic project delivery functions (production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, scheduling, estimating, technical design, financial management and marketing).
• Project management including guiding clients through all phases of basic project delivery.
• Developing and peer review of project construction document plans and specifications.
• Regulatory coordination, permitting and attending public agency review meetings.
• Coordinate communications between internal and external associates.
• Ensure self and staff always uphold company core values.

Position Requirements

• BS in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school is a plus, or equivalent experience in related field.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering design consulting, primarily related to infrastructure market projects (municipal water utilities such as stormwater, wastewater, and water supply).
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in OH, KY, or IN or the ability to be licensed in these states is a plus.
• Experience working with local governments, including conducting public meetings and presentations.

Position Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to sell design consulting services for public infrastructure and municipal clients.
• Actively involved in or held leadership positions in outside organizations related to the profession or consulting industry, (American Public Works Association, OH and or KY chapters, or similar).
• Demonstrated supervision and leadership experience of project technical staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects and staff simultaneously.
• Proven interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability; strong project financial management and team management skills.
• Candidate must be capable of making sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
• Proficient working knowledge of Autodesk AEC Collection software (AutoCAD Civil 3D), as well as Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
