Company DescriptionAs part of our efforts to focus on promoting health and wellness and disease prevention, we are seeking an experienced health educator to leverage campus health and wellness assets to create and execute a multifaceted, school-based health and wellness program for not just our TK-12 students across two campuses, but also their families and our staff. The Director of Youth Health & Wellness will oversee the WCPA transformational health & wellness vision and strategy, and most importantly, execute programs by partnering with students, families, teachers, administrators, and the Wonderful Center for Health Innovation (WCHI). For the right candidate, this will provide an incredible opportunity to launch a model for world-class health and wellness that can have an immense positive impact on underserved youth.to learn more about the Wonderful Company's other great philanthropic partnerships!As Director of Youth Health & Wellness at Wonderful College Prep Academy, the ideal candidate will:

  • Develop innovative health & wellness education and community programs that bring together our Harvest Hall, school health & wellness center, athletics, and academics teams.
  • Work closely with our Community Schools team to create innovative ways for families to engage in wellness activities and healthy eating outside of school.
  • Build transformational health and nutrition programs that can be replicated throughout the school and community to include the following:
  • Nutrition curriculum across all grade levels.
  • Health & wellness units within STEM electives.
  • Teaching kitchens.
  • Learning gardens.
  • Nutrition programming and training for parents.
  • Community and Youth advocacy clubs and programs.
  • Exercise or Healthy Movement programs.
  • In partnership with the Wonderful Company, work with WCPA's Lead Chef to collaborate on innovative ways to excite students about Harvest Hall foods and encourage trial and achieve participation goals.
  • Oversee necessary marketing, advertising, and communication strategies to ensure high participation rates in Harvest Hall and all wellness programming, as well as utilization of onsite wellness centers.
  • Conduct research and resource mapping to identify needs and opportunities to address youth health & wellness goals.
  • Conduct classroom presentations and workshop sessions on health leadership and advocacy, substance abuse disorders, and other public health priority subjects that are risk factors for health.
  • Collaborate with school stakeholders including administrators, teachers, and the Family Wellness Center around program implementation and program-related health concerns.
  • Consult and collaborate with parents/guardians, school educators, and members of the community to reduce substance use and related adverse health and social outcomes by promoting a positive vision for youth and implementing locally driven efforts to change conditions and norms that impact community health and health equity.
  • Assist with curriculum development and presentations to support educators and team members on relevant health issues.
  • Regular travel between Delano and Lost Hills campuses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least 5-7 years of experience working with underserved or at-risk youth in either a clinical, health & wellness, or academic setting.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or General Dietetics (ACEND accredited preferred); master's degree a plus.
  • A proven track record of program development focused on health, wellness, and nutrition counseling.
  • Knowledge of national school lunch program structure and USDA guidelines/protocols.
  • A passion for health and wellness that is contagious and inspires healthy habits.
  • Experience working with several different internal and external vendors, consultants, and partners including ensuring accountability to high-quality results.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
Pay Range: $95,000 - $145.000/annually. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.Additional InformationCompensation:
