The director ensures high standards of service to provide safe and efficient transportation services for ChristianaCare Hospital Newark campus.The successful candidate will have no less than 5-10 years\' experience in Patient Escort Management; preferably in a 500 plus bed organization.Christiana care offers:Robust benefit package including full medical, dental and vision403(b) with a company matchGenerous paid time off with annual roll-over and opportunities to cash out12 week paid parental leaveIncredible Work/Life benefits including annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial coaching, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much morePrincipal duties and responsibilities:Develops and implements departmental policies, procedures, goals, objectives, and standards of work performance for patient escort services ChristianaCare hospital Newark campus.Determines the scope and flow of work assignments, use of equipment and use of chemicals to provide a safe, efficient and effective patient experience.Plans, develops and coordinates training to meet the developmental and learning needs of the organization.Supervises and directs assigned staff including interviewing and hiring new staff, evaluating work performance, coaching and discipliningEstablishes and manages processes to determine workload, productivity and staffing needsEnsures employee relations matters are conducted in a fair, even handed manner consistent with ChristianaCare\xe2\x80\x99 s policies.Coordinates departmental activities and responsibilities with other ChristianaCare departments.Establishes goals with a plan of action for accomplishment, including clearly stated desired results in conjunction with the Vice President of Support Services.Ensures that proper communications are maintained with staff through staff meetings, other oral communications and written communications.Coordinates the development of annual operating and capital budgets to include personnel, equipment, material, engineering services and project needs. Monitors and manages the budget after adoption.Analyzes and resolves inter-departmental issues requiring department head level administration.Initiates, negotiates, and manages contracted services and supply agreements including equipment maintenance, and necessary supplies.Ensures that the Patient Escort Services Department is in compliance with CDC, TJC, EPA, OSHA and other relevant regulatory agencies so ChristianaCare meets or exceeds the applicable regulations.Evaluates technical information provided by these businesses to determine whether or not to purchase/obtain equipment from the business.Applies innovative approaches to managerial problem solving, staff motivation and monitoring results of the patient escort department.Directs performance improvement initiatives that support caregiver experience, exceptional experience, optimal health and organizational vitality.Produces accurate and timely departmental reports, and analyses.Takes a proactive approach to all aspects of management to create and maintain a productive and quality oriented working environment.Ensures that a safe work environment is maintained in work areas and that proper safety procedures are followed.Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports and/or corrects in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as required.Qualifications:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, Master\xe2\x80\x99s preferred.
