Job Summary: Manages supply chain function and activities of those engaged in the purchasing of material, inventory control, logistics and shipping and receiving. Ensures right-sized inventory levels of materials, efficient operation of shipping and receiving work centers, and handling of material and purchased items.
Essential Functions: This position is accountable for the overall control and movement of materials in and out of the facility. Develop and maintain methods and policies to ensure the most efficient and economical procurement and shipment of materials into and out of the location. Ensure resources are best utilized to achieve both short- and long-term goals. Analyze and evaluate problems with inventory and recommend solutions. Provide periodic reports to executive management. Ensure a qualified staff for the area of responsibility exists through appropriate hiring, training, and development.
