Website: .Location: US:CO:BOULDERDepartment: Health ServicesPosition Title: Director-Health ServicesPosition Start Date: July 1, 2024Position Type: Central AdministrationFTE: 1.0 - 40 hours per week - Regular, ongoingWork Schedule: 261 Days - 12 Months - JulySalary Range 11:$104,966 - $157,449Closing Date: June 20, 2024Summary:Provide dynamic leadership which supports the health and well being of students attending Boulder Valley School District programs, and support and further the health services program and staff.Responsibilities:

  • Hire and supervise school nurses, outside agency assigned nurses, Medicaid and Health Services staff. This includes office administration, health room paraprofessional trainer, vision and hearing screening technicians, Medicaid staff, Early Childhood/Child Find staff, Resource Nursing staff and School Nurse Consultants and building assigned School Nurses as well as Health and Wellness Coordinator. Directs the workload and its division among the staff.
  • Provide leadership, direction, management, coordination and policy development of entire Health Services, Medicaid programs and Health and Wellness program.
  • Develop program goals and objectives, linking the district Strategic Plan to state and local initiatives for health and health services, Medicaid and wellness initiatives.
  • Participate in state level school health policy development and implementation.
  • Ensure legal and safety compliance for all Health Services, School Medicaid and Health and Wellness programs.
  • Direct, monitor and evaluate quality assurance outcomes.
  • Direct and supervise the training and orientation for Health Services, Medicaid and Health and Wellness staff.
  • Provide oversight and direction for grants that support the goals of health services provision and overlap with other district initiatives and personnel.
  • Provide budget oversight and develop and balance the yearly budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Required:
  • Master\'s Degree in a major pertinent to the position requirements: Nursing or health related field, such as Public Health with a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a Nursing and Supervisor role.
  • Must have a DORA RN license.
  • Currently hold a CDE Special Skills Provider license with appropriate endorsement in School Nurse 0-21.
  • Must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
Preferred:
  • Experienced in working with special needs students or adults.
  • Experience with Health Education and prevention programming.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to guide, direct, train and supervise persons of diverse backgrounds and skills.
  • Work integrally and seamlessly within an educational setting from a health care provider perspective.
  • Knowledge of Colorado Nurse Practice Act and CDE school nursing guidelines.
  • Knowledge of risk management, legal issues in school nursing administration.
  • Knowledge of data privacy guidelines including FERPA, HIPAA.
  • Fiscal management skills including but not limited to ethics, responsibility and commitment to transparency.
  • Ability to work closely with district level departments to provide necessary support and resources.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Public speaking and group facilitation skills.
  • Availability to consult, advise, problem-solve and support administration on decisions related to health and wellness programs.
  • Up to date knowledge of best practices in school nursing, school Medicaid, and health education.
  • Commitment to sustain up-to-date knowledge in area of expertise.
Salary Information:Salary Range 11:$104,966 - $157,449varies according to experience and education.*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the ). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process.
