DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Disabled Veterans\' Outreach Program Specialist (DVOP) in a PA CareerLink\xc2\xae career center, you will provide employment and training services to eligible veterans and eligible spouses who are facing significant barriers to employment. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and an interest in learning and maintaining knowledge of applicable workforce development laws and policies.
Working as a DVOP, you can take pride in helping fellow veterans find and keep meaningful employment, in addition to making a significant positive impact in the lives of veterans within your community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Occasional travel may be required.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of technical or paraprofessional employment services or veterans\' employer outreach work, and a bachelor\'s degree; or
One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor\'s degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Necessary Special Requirements:
All positions must be filled by a veteran with preference in such appointments given to qualified disabled veterans as defined by Title 38, USC Chap. 41, Section 4101 (3).
