Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a District Sales Manager to join our Yamaha Golf Car Group. In this position you will cover Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee for our Golf Car Group. Working with the Yamaha Golf Car (YGC) Regional Sales Manager, the District Manager implements strategic action plans that support the overall corporate and district direction. This position is responsible for achieving retail and wholesale targets for new and used units as well as parts and accessories. The District Manager must be able to work independently, formulate and implement sales and dealer development strategies, and develop sales forecasts while maintaining budget and expenses.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

  • Act as a business consultant to the dealer: Assist dealer to meet market demand for Yamaha products, create strong business goals and help improve the overall business.
  • Develop rapport with dealership staff, and develop strategies to improve dealer performance (sales, shop share in multi-line dealerships, customer satisfaction for sales, service, and parts).
  • Educate dealers on utilization of sales programs to maximize unit and accessory sales and market potential.
  • Provide feedback to Regional Sales Managers on market trends and competitive activity through regular district reports.
  • Promote Yamaha products at required consumer events including Dealer Shows, Regional Shows, and District Events.
  • Manage responsibilities for new dealer establishment and existing dealer transfer of ownership, relocation, and termination within the district.
  • Monitor dealer operations, facilities, capital and management to assure compliance with company standards and agreements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in marketing, sales, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience in field operations, or in a retail sales setting required.
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently in the field.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to drive golf cars onto trailers and lift a moderate amount of weight.
  • Ability to relocate and live in assigned territory is required.
  • Extensive travel is required.
