Located at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, the NASA Shared Services Center\xe2\x80\x99s (NSSC) mission is to provide timely, accurate, high quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused support for selected NASA business and technical services. GDIT, which is the prime contractor, has partnered with NASA to consolidate selected Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology activities from the ten NASA Centers into a single shared services center.

GDIT is currently searching for a Personnel Assistant to support the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity at the NSSC.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO) staff in performing routine support assignments such as gathering and organizing information to make sound recommendations to improve and support business activities.
  • Assist the ODEO staff in planning, coordinating, reviewing, and/or monitoring a positive Equal Opportunity (EO) program initiative.
  • Support the ODEO staff by providing administrative support during the development and management of the Management Directive 715 (MD-715) and the MD-715 Working Groups at both SSC and NSSC.
  • Provision the ODEO staff with administrative support during the implementation of programs and initiatives that advance the diversity of the workforce and strengthen an inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain notes and records of the site-wide Stennis Diversity Council.
  • Support the ODEO staff in the development of the Center D&I plans at both SSC and NSSC.
  • Provide administrative support and record keeping for the D&I Boards at SSC and NSSC.
  • Assist the ODEO staff in implementing specially designed training for employees, managers and supervisors concerning their EEO and D&I responsibilities.
  • Compile routine data and produce simple metric reports for management, when requested.
  • Support management using simple analytical techniques and statistics to assess issues related to management processes, systems and to support programs.
  • Assist with the analyses of workforce characteristics concerning the utilization of employees by age, race sex, religion, and national origin, when requested.
  • Produce spreadsheets and PowerPoint charts from extracted data, when requested.
  • Work with ODEO staff to document program deficiencies during audit and analysis of EEO programs to detect discrepancies in employment, promotion, recognition, etc., when requested.
  • Compile basic statistical data on the civilian work force for the development and tracking of the EEO plan required under the Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP), when requested.
  • Maintains effective and appropriate professional work relationships.
Educational and Years of Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree. Prior experience providing support to Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity is preferred.
Other Qualifications:
  • Expertise in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for communicating with internal and external personnel of all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance work and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong skills in utilizing presentation and database software and preparing presentations.
  • Ability to keep sensitive and confidential material private.
  • Ability to work independently with a team and minimal supervision.
  • Performs other support duties as assigned.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Travel Required: Less than 10%
