Summary
Little Apples Day Care & Learning Center, located conveniently off exit 9N in Hooksett, is searching for a Lead Teacher to join our Toddler 2 team to ensure that the basic and educational needs of our students are met. As a lead toddler teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver classroom activities, communicate with staff and parents, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students and a supervisor to the other staff in the classroom.
To be successful as a toddler teacher, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of the contextual factors that shape early childhood development and a knowledge of play based emergent curriculum.

Duties
Curriculum
o Planning activities in accordance with curriculum objectives and developmentally appropriate practice
o Utilizing sign language, storytelling and singing to promote language development
o Meeting the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child
o Promoting self-help skills, social relationships, and sensory exploration
o Preparing weekly curriculum plans
o Completing ongoing assessment of children\'s development
Communication
o Reporting progress of children to parents in daily reports and through parent-teacher conferences
o Maintaining daily open communication with parents
o Maintaining confidentiality of children, families, and other staff
o Reporting any suspected abuse or neglect to Director and/or DCYF
Classroom Management & Interactions with Children
o Arranging a classroom environment conducive to early learning
o Maintaining visual contact of all children at all times
o Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment
o Inspecting and replacing damaged or lost materials
o Supervising assistants in the classroom
o Keeping all appropriate records such as attendance records, accident reports, curriculum sheets, and other records as applicable
o Mediating conflict between students
o Tending to children\'s basic needs, including but not limited to feeding, diapering, etc.
o Modeling appropriate behaviors
Other responsibilities
o Attending in-service and staff meetings
o Maintaining 18 hours of professional development annually, including but not limited to:
A minimum of 6 hours in infant and toddler focused training
No less than 3 hours of Health & Safety Trainings, per NHCCLU
The NH Health & Safety Trainings on ProSolutions
o Meeting all licensing regulations as required through the NH Child Care Licensing Unit
o Achieving and maintaining a credential through the Early Childhood Professional Development System
