Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Department Manager, the Echocardiographer is responsible for providing basic cardiac care in accordance with specific physician\xe2\x80\x99s orders, department policies and procedures. * Consistently deliver the best in customer service and patient care. As a team member, demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors and other employees

• Champion PCMC\xe2\x80\x99s mission, vision and values; comply with the policies and procedures, ethical standards and code of conduct set forth by the company
• Maintains knowledge of the various methods of performing an Echocardiogram
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of all departmental forms, flow charts, logbooks and their proper usage.
• Sets-up and monitors patient to ensure no patient difficulties and or contraindications observed
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation. Makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Familiar with normal vital signs, normal parameters and measurements of different chambers within the heart, outside the heart and sub-costally.
• Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures.
• Documents all pertinent data on the patient\xe2\x80\x99s medical record following completion of any service.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients, as well as the general patient population.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of hazards of surroundings while performing Echo\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests Echo equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of routine echo, stress echo, bubble studies and TEE\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Ability to measure all chambers of the heart, muscle, valves, motion, flow, Doppler etc.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• One year of training interacting and performing echocardiograms on patients of all age groups preferred
• Certificate and / or registry from ARDMS, RCS, RCI required
