Position Summary:

The E-Commerce Online Sales Associate creates online listings and provides excellent service using Goodwill of Central Iowa's (GCI) values of love, kindness, and respect. This position is responsible for listing donated goods on various online platforms to maximize revenue in support of GCI's mission.

What you'll do:

Effectively identifies trending, valuable, or collectible donated goods. Accurately researches and writes item descriptions using established processes. Lists items on online platforms following organizational posting guidelines and assigned individual goals and/or KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Performs inventory control processes to ensure accurate inventory and security. Delivers excellent service to internal and external customers, giving appropriate and timely support throughout the auction lifecycle. Keeps work area organized and clean. Safely uses equipment such as a conveyor, wheeled cart, z-rack, or rolling tubs. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you'll need:

High-school diploma or be currently enrolled, or a minimum of 2 years of any combination of military service, high school, or related full-time paid employment. Experience and working knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and jewelry preferred. Proficiency in using current computer technology, web browsers, and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. Must be able to type quickly and accurately. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Must be able to perform basic math. Ability to work both independently and with a team effectively and flexibly. Ability to use an electronic handheld device to enter or retrieve data. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet assigned individual goals. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.

Physical Requirements

Ability to occasionally carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds. Ability to consistently carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds. Ability to tolerate occasional variations in work environment temperature. Ability to be active (such as moving, walking, reaching, grasping) or stationary for long periods of time. Must have visual acuity to determine accuracy of work assigned or make general observations of items, facilities, or structures. Ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to work at a computer, grasp, feel, and move objects.
