About the Position:
The College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) is committed to educating engineers and computer scientists who will graduate with state-of-the art knowledge in their chosen field and are ready to embark on careers in industry and government, or proceed to acquire advanced degrees in their own or related fields. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the ECS Event Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Non-Exempt). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
The ECS Event Specialist provides high level administrative support to the Dean and other administrators of the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS). Serves as the ABET accreditation and annual reports coordinator, involving multiple departments and outside agencies. Serves as the assets and equipment coordinator. Evaluates travel forms, recommends approval, and monitors timely processing. Serves as the Department Information Technology Coordinator (DITC). Requests additions, moves, and changes for faculty, instructors, staff, student workers, and administrative accounts. Interfaces with IT for the tracking of compliance training. Manages ECS People Directory, email, computer log-in accounts, and completes IT Clearances.
Facilitates the publishing of ECS events and calendar with regards to the CSUF calendar, bulletin board, and CSUF news. Serves as the college events and special projects coordinator. Conducts and oversees ECS events and recommends finance and resource improvements. Designs invitations and announcements, negotiates and coordinates venue, catering, facilities use agreement contracts, and obtains approvals. Selects and purchases promotional items, solicits bids, negotiates pricing, and interfaces with Strategic Communications for artwork and branding design. Generates analytical reports and makes recommendations for improving processes. Works with the Dean\'s Office Budget Analyst to track budgets and generate s documents for financial activity including state, Auxiliary Services Corporation (ASC), University Advancement (UA), and Philanthropic Foundation (CSFPF) funds. Serves as the Dean\'s Office budget account coordinator. Serves as the college curriculum and schedules resource expert. Oversees the college departments\' schedule building and changes. Assists with the training and oversight of student assistants. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs. Working knowledge of the general practices, program or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit or administrative specialty. Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis. Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments. Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a academic administrative office or private sector office with equivalent functions. Strong knowledge of campus administrative structures and university policies and procedures.
License/Certifications
Valid California driver\'s license.
