Job Description

Looking for a storyteller with sound news judgement to be primary content generator for the Amery Free Press, a weekly newspaper in Polk County, Wisconsin, located an hour from Minneapolis. Responsibilities:
- Gather news stories and information through research, interviews, and observation
- Write and edit news articles for publication
- Conduct interviews with sources to gather information and quotes
- Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and credibility
- Take photographs to accompany news articles
- Collaborate with other reporters, editors, and photographers to produce high-quality content
- Stay up-to-date with current events and trends in order to pitch relevant story ideas Requirements:

- Bachelor\'s degree in journalism or a related field preferred
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of AP style guidelines for writing and editing
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail for fact-checking, copy editing, and proofreading
