:Job SummaryThis position will encompass working with the Danville Schools, teaching and developing class curriculum. The RN is a nursing professional care provider under the direction of the director or designee who utilizes the nursing process, nursing standards and physicians orders to plan, provide and direct nursing practice. Accomplishment of nursing practice that includes practice elements as defined by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model. Performance that accomplishes patient and family centered care as central to practice and a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible to participate in shared nursing leadership to accomplish positive outcomes, education, respect, dignity and safety for the patient and their family. Accountable for leadership of self and others. Participates in direct patient care as needed. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods in a stationary position and positioning oneself to move heavy objects. Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and anti-neoplastic agents. Work may require extended hours in an office or patient care setting.Minimum Qualifications or EquivalentsEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN or equivalent and advanced certification nationally recognized in specialty area of nursing practice preferred. MSN preferred.Experience: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three-five years of ED and/or varied critical care experience. Will consider a motivated candidate with five years of Med/Surg experience. Teaching experience preferred.EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Computer literate, excellent written oral and interpersonal skills used in negotiation and presentation.Licenses, Certifications, and/or RegistrationsKY RN license, Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications required upon hire. The aforementioned certifications will require instructor status within six months of hire. Specialty Certification in area of practice preferred.
