#Plains LPG Services is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical/Instrumentation Technician for our LPG Operations group. This position will be based in Superior, WI and will be responsible for maintaining equipment at the Superior, Wisconsin facility and may provide I&E support to Plains\xe2\x80\x99 Northern Area terminals on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, calibrating, testing, proving, troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation, including pressure, and temperature transmitters, gas detectors, control valves, meters, and analyzers;
  • Troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment;
  • Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic devices;
  • Installing, replacing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and related electrical equipment;
  • Testing electrical circuits to ensure integrity and safety;
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting VFD\xe2\x80\x99s;
  • Performing mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification, including removing and installing small piping and tubing;
  • Rebuilding control valves;
  • Providing technical input and scope development for operations, projects and turnarounds;
  • Performing scheduled preventive maintenance and completes test and maintenance reports;
  • Completing all written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed;
  • Consulting manufacturer\'s manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures;
  • Strong focus on safety and accepts responsibility for their safety performance;
  • Complying with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations as well as facility standards and procedures; and
  • Providing on-call support during non-business hours.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School graduate;
  • Relevant diploma/trade ticket and/or equivalent years experience in field operations would be an asset;
  • An electrician license would be considered an asset through not required
  • Must have a valid drivers\xe2\x80\x99 license.
  • Capable of calibrating, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of process control equipment- including pressure, and temperature transmitters, gas detectors, PLC\xe2\x80\x99s, Motor control center, control valves, turbine meters, analyzers and other associated field equipment.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Word / Excel and e-mail; and
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and optimization skills are required.
  • Maintaining permanent residency within 50 miles of the Superior, Wi facility is a condition of employment;
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental issues;
  • Ability to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks;
  • Compliance with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
