Join Cerebral Staffing, LLC on site at our client John Deere in Morrisville, NC as an Electrification Application Engineer!

Location: Morrisville, NC | Onsite, worker will sit between the Morrisville Engineering lab and John Deere Cary sites. Travel may be required domestically.

Duration of Role: 1+ year

Pay: $77.00 - $82.50 / hourly

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, coordinates, and carries out the product analysis, design, and testing activities for electric drive systems used in Deere products. Electric drive system components include electric machines, alternators, inverters, converters, batteries, and control systems.

• Design - systems: works with the vehicle engineers to define and develop the requirements of electric drive systems and designs the system
• Design - components: works with internal teams (electric motors, batteries, power electronics, software) and external suppliers to define and develop the component requirements. This position does not involve detailed component development.
• Design - vehicle Integration: works with vehicle engineers to integrate the electric drive system into the vehicle.
• Vehicle and system commissioning - commission new systems and vehicles, including troubleshooting vehicle system problems, determining application specific software performance parameters
• Vehicle and system testing - plan and execute functional testing of electric drive systems and vehicles

REQUIRED:

• 2+ years technical experience relating to the development (design and/or test) of electric drive systems
• Demonstrated ability to design electric drive systems
• Demonstrated ability to verify electric drive components and systems

DESIRED:

• Strong practical experience in electric drive technology product application
• Experience with component development of electric machines or power electronics or alternators or batteries or power harnesses
• Experience with vehicle engineering (examples include: agriculture, construction, automotive, recreation, mining)

• Designing electric drive systems in a production environment
• System requirements
• System design \xe2\x80\x93 selection of motors, electronics, batteries, and software to meet requirements
• Vehicle integration \xe2\x80\x93 interfaces and constraints
• Determining application specific software performance parameters
• Control gains, limits, slew rates, protection thresholds, algorithm performance parameters
• Verifying/testing electric drive systems (system in lab & vehicle at test site)
• Vehicle engineering experience/familiarity (examples include: agriculture, construction, automotive, recreation, mining)
