Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Electro-Optical (EO) Engineer for an exciting Orlando, FL position!

Candidate will participate in the Engineering "Early Career" program which is focused on the development of key Engineering skills applicable to the company\'s product portfolio. Candidate will perform a variety of Engineering tasks and assignments that will promote the development of their engineering and interpersonal skills in a structured framework within the engineering disciplines, such as Electrical, Optics and Photonics, and Software.

The engineer will work in a cross-discipline team environment. Tasks include the generation of analysis performance reports using standard electro-optical modeling software; investigation and analysis of relevant variables potentially affecting the product. Additional tasking includes developing and maintaining engineering models and simulations that provide the basis for engineering predictions of sensing and seeker system and subsystem performance.

Electro-Optical Engineering candidates are interested in passive and active sensor technologies and capable of learning and performing various tasks such as optical physics modeling, sensor analysis, sensor characterizations, and image processing development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret clearance to start.
*Physics, optics, math, or engineering electro-optics relevant coursework or experience
Desired Skills:
*Active DoD Secret clearance

*Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master\'s degree.

*Experience with Code V or Zemax

*Professional experience with system development, integration, and verification of sensor components and

*Good communication skills

*Comfortable working in a team environment

*Tenacity to solve challenging technical problems

*Analytical mindset

*Programming skills (any low- or high-level language)

*Experience/Projects involving optical sensing
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
