Position Title: Elementary Teacher \xe2\x80\x93 Grade 5

Reports To: Building-level School Principal
Term: January 2, 2024 - through end of school year
This will be a non-continuing, fixed term contract for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. The possibility of a continuing contract may be considered for the 2024-2025 school year.
Schedule: M-F 7:40am-3:30pm
Salary: Follows the 2023-2024 Teacher Salary Schedule

SUMMARY: The classroom teacher creates an engaging, nurturing and safe learning environment that allows learners to develop their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing; providing instruction in academics, future ready skills, knowledge, and dispositions to be compassionate, lifelong-learners, and contributing citizens in a rapidly changing world.

Education and/or Experience:
  • ND Teaching License with appropriate qualifications to teach grades 1-8 or K-8.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in elementary education.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Personalized Competency Based Learning (PCBL).
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Restorative Practices.
  • Prior experience managing complex learner behaviors or working with behavior plans.
  • Experience working in an elementary school setting is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and converse in the English language.

Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Exercise confidentiality, discretion, and good judgement.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor and director regarding feedback, growth opportunities, and areas of opportunity.
  • Adhere to the assigned work schedule by maintaining regular and punctual attendance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May supervise paraprofessionals and/or learner workers (if assigned).
