Overview

The EMT-Basic plays a crucial role in emergency medical services, providing immediate care to patients in urgent situations. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will respond to emergency calls, assess patients' conditions, and deliver essential pre-hospital care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide appropriate medical assistance. Assess patients' conditions through thorough examinations and vital sign checks. Administer basic life support (BLS) techniques and interventions as needed. Assist in airway management and ensure patient safety during transport. Drive emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and regulations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including those in Level II Trauma Centers and ER settings. Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed records of care provided. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to emergency medicine and critical care transport.

Skills

Knowledge of physiology and human anatomy to effectively assess patient needs. Experience administering injections and performing basic medical procedures. Proficiency in DME (Durable Medical Equipment) usage for patient care. Strong understanding of airway management techniques. Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments, especially during critical situations. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and medical personnel. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
