The Opportunity

Provides engineering support to new and existing products, processes, prototypes, fixtures, and tools. Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Work On

• Provides EMC engineering support for new product development and existing product by collaborating with Abbott Electrical and Mechanical engineering as needed.
• Perform EMC verification testing per preapproved EMC test protocols as required per EN IEC 61326-1, EN IEC 61326-2-6 and other applicable standards.
• Documents test results and drafts EMC test report. Communicate any issues encountered during testing, including diminished margin, as they occur.
• Troubleshoots, investigates, and resolves problems involving EMC test equipment and methods (procedures), EMC test plans and Equipment under Test, documenting justification or rationale as needed. Provides suggestions for margin enhancement where possible.
• Assist with EMC/Safety assessments for proposed design changes and provide design recommendations to R&D engineers and management.
• Collaborates across functional areas, including engineering, project management and other systems development personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in an engineering or closely related discipline
• 3+ years progressive work experience in laboratory environment, field service, RF, EMC, Safety and/or with Abbott Diagnostics products

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 3+ years work experience in EMC and Product Safety testing

The base pay for this position is $56,700.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $113,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
