Introduction

The DNREC Sediment and Stormwater Management Program operates within the Division of Watershed Stewardship\'s Conservation Programs Section. The program employs a comprehensive approach to sediment control (both during and after construction) and stormwater management that includes monitoring of stormwater quantity and water quality control.\\r\ \\r\ Click here for more information about the Sediment and Stormwater section of Watershed and Stewardship. \\r\

Summary Statement

This position is responsible for implementing the Sediment and Stormwater Program through the review and approval of sediment and stormwater management plans for state and federal projects in compliance with appropriate authorities and providing guidance to the Program\'s delegated agencies; designers; other state, federal, or local entities; and public and private organizations or individuals.\\r\

Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\\r\ \\r\ Drafts, develops and modifies engineering designs, plans and specifications. \\r\ \\r\ Reviews permit applications, blueprints and/or designs prepared by others to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations. \\r\ \\r\ Applies the principles and theories of science and mathematics to research and develop solutions to technical problems. \\r\ \\r\ Plans and conducts field studies, surveys, research and development projects, inspections and/or investigations to collect data and ensure conformance to state/federal laws and regulations. \\r\ \\r\ Tests or evaluates materials, equipment, systems and facilities. \\r\ \\r\ Plans and coordinates engineering projects.\\r\ \\r\ Reviews, analyzes and reports on the status of projects and/or regulatory conformance.\\r\ \\r\ Develops cost estimates for project time and materials.\\r\ \\r\ Provides technical guidance and training to technical staff. \\r\ \\r\

\\r\ \\r\ JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer I (Civil, or Environmental)\\r\ Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: \\r\ \xef\xbf\xbd1.\xef\xbf\xbd Possession of a Bachelors Degree or higher in Civil, or Environmental Engineering OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying NCEES).\xef\xbf\xbd \xef\xbf\xbd\\r\ \\r\ \\r\ JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer II \\r\ Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\\r\ \\r\ Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher\xef\xbf\xbd(in Civil or Environmental Engineering) OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (in Civil or Environmental Engineering) administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). \\r\ At least one year experience (in Civil or Environmental Engineering)\xef\xbf\xbdOR\xef\xbf\xbdpossession of a\xef\xbf\xbdMasters degree or higher (in Civil or Environmental Engineering).\\r\ \\r\ \\r\ JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer III \\r\ Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: \\r\ \\r\ Possession of a Bachelors Degree or higher (in Civil or Environmental Engineering) OR official notice of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination (in Civil or Environmental Engineering) administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). \\r\ At least four years experience (in Civil or Environmental Engineering). \\r\ Knowledge of engineering project management which includes planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of engineering projects.\\r\ \\r\ \\r\ \\r\
