JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Responsible for the engineering activities related to the development, upgrade, maintenance and application of PRA (probabilistic risk analysis) for nuclear plants in the Entergy Fleet. Responsible for PRA engineering support of Risk Informed Applications for nuclear plants in the Entergy Fleet.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides plant support in Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA).
  • Develops and maintains the EN sites\' PSA models - Level 1 PRA (Performing data analysis, human reliability analysis, fault tree modeling using the CAFTA and EOOS software), Thermal Hydraulic analysis (e.g., MAAP software), containment performance analysis and consequence analysis (Level 2/Level 3 PSA).
  • Adapts/develops quantitative and qualitative risk assessments in Fire PRA, Seismic risk, Shutdown risk, Internal flooding, and related areas.
  • Is familiar with and uses relevant PRA computer software, as needed.
  • Uses MS Toolkit and MathCAD, as needed to improve processes. Works on various PRA Applications such as Maintenance Rule, MSPI, on-line risk management, risk-informed regulatory issues, licensing renewal, regulatory interfaces, etc. as requested.
  • Performs engineering calculations in the areas of PRA and risk-based initiatives and support of regulatory assurance issues, as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level)
Minimum experience required of the position
  • Engineer, I: 0+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
  • Engineer, II: 2+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent (1 year with master\'s degree)
  • Engineer, III: 4+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent (3 years with PE/master\'s degree)
  • Engineer, Senior: 6+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent (5 years with PE)
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
  • Good to excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and fleet priorities.
  • Experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon engineering level.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
  • Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
