Engineering Inspector I
Job Description
Starting Salary: $24.07-$25.58 per hour (depending on experience)
Office Location: Engineering Department, 2824 Progressive Drive, Edmond OK.
This is a Safety Sensitive position
The Engineering Department is dedicated to providing technical service and expertise to the City Council, developers, contractors, city departments, and citizens. We do this as it relates to the expansion of the city\'s infrastructure and capital improvements. Our goal is to do this effectively, timely, and reliably. Our department consists of three divisions: Administration, Drainage Utility, and Engineering Inspections.
The Job
- Technical field inspections of contract construction work sites to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Visually inspect quality & grade of material in construction to ensure proper placement.
- Prepare reports & maintain records on inspection activity & the status of work progress.
- Inspect installation of water & sewer lines & fire hydrants. Ensure proper connections are made.
- Inspect construction of Concrete & Asphalt Paving.
- Observe the testing of water & sanitary sewer lines.
- Obtain evidence & prepare notice concerning uncorrected violations.
- Interpret construction requirements & recommend compliance procedures.
- Observe conditions & issue notices for corrections to persons responsible.
- Daily work schedule, 7:30-5:30 Mon-Thurs and 7:30-11:30 Fridays. You have Friday Afternoons off!
