What\'s the role?

Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Customer Data & Engagement API team within the Marketing Enablement group. Our aim is to empower Etsy\'s marketing team to deliver compelling personalized content to the right audience through the right channel at the right time - every time. We collaborate closely with marketing partners in CRM, which is an exciting high-potential domain with lots of measurable impact!

You will partner closely with engineers, product managers, and marketing leaders to uncover opportunities for creative technical solutions and lead a team of seasoned engineers to implement experiments.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager and the base salary range will be 182,000.00 - 236,000.00 USD per year. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. You will have the option to work office-based, flex or remotely. Candidates living within commutable distance of the Etsy Brooklyn Hub, or within the San Francisco area, may be the first to be considered. What does the day-to-day look like?

• You will be responsible for building and managing a team of highly effective engineers and serve as their coach, mentor, and advocate.
• You will collaborate with product managers, marketing partners, data scientists, and other engineering leaders throughout the company.
• You will partner with stakeholders to prioritize and develop new capabilities and drive Etsy\'s technical strategy for CRM.
• You will plan and prioritize the team\'s roadmap to deliver measured impact on Etsy\'s email and push channels through continuous experimentation and strategic engineering investments.
• Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy\'s discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• You have deep experience in software engineering management with a track record of delivering high experiment velocity, while effectively balancing short-term needs with long-term strategic investment.
• You have a technical background building scalable high-availability systems, either as an individual contributor or leading a team to do so.
• You have experience managing multiple stakeholders and/or external vendors and can clearly articulate risks and dependencies on projects.
• You have a strong track record of facilitating learning and growth of engineers across various experience levels through effective coaching.
• Engineering experience working in CRM, marketing technology, or eCommerce is nice to have but not required.
