Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for this future and anticipated need.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Eielson AFB in Fairbanks, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have extensive practical experience in Air Force or Department of Defense (DoD) construction management and oversight, with a strong understanding of engineering principles, safety procedures, building codes, and industry standards. This role will involve providing persistent monitoring, documentation, and technical expertise throughout all stages of construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.Compensation & Benefits:

SME - Engineering Project Manager Responsibilities Include:
  • Monitor and document project (to include construction) progress, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide reports on project preparatory work, highlighting compliance with safety regulations and recommending changes to administrative procedures.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project monitoring reports, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols and quality control plans.
  • Report significant safety observations to the appropriate base engineering organization within 24 hours, including potential safety hazards and compliance issues.
  • Provide CAD products using Government-provided software (e.g., AutoCAD), ensuring accurate representation of safety features and compliance with building codes.
  • Transmit record drawings to the installation GIS office, incorporating safety-related annotations and clarifications as needed.
  • Advises the appropriate government authorities on safety-related matters, including contractor RFIs, design errors/omissions, and unforeseen safety hazards.
  • Provide recommendations for improving engineering requirements, safety practices and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide reports for designs in progress, emphasizing compliance with safety regulations and industry standards identifying errors during the process.
  • Recommend project related changes to standard practices to enhance safety and compliance with building codes.
  • Prepare and maintain minutes for safety conferences, emphasizing discussions related to safety procedures, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Attend and participate in weekly engineering squadron meetings, contributing relevant information on project deliverables, safety-related issues and compliance concerns.
  • Maintain all documentation and reports produced in the Government\'s file system, ensuring accurate recording of safety-related information and adherence to existing methodologies and formats.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Air Force engineering organization.
SME - Engineering Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in project and construction management and oversight, with a strong emphasis on project monitoring, safety procedures and compliance.
  • Engineering degree desired but not required if the candidate has broad and extensive knowledge of DoD engineering, construction, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD, with the ability to incorporate safety-related information into technical documents.
  • Knowledge of Federal, DoD, Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and State construction management and engineering regulations, safety procedures, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Technical Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Project Manager.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
