We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as an Engineering Release and Change Clerk. The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Analyzes engineering and customer service action items, engineering release and change notices, and related documents to ensure company procedures are followed including checking for clarity, completeness and accuracy
  • Maintains effective dates in BOM\xe2\x80\x99s to minimize scrap during changes in product
• Leads monthly Request to Scrap Surplus Material (RSSM), sends out monthly list for scrap approval in ETQ (quality management system)
• Supports accounting with Standard Cost Run (SCR) for annual update
• Tracks material and leads build out meetings with the appropriate planners to minimize scrap
• Refers to EDS engineering database releases to ensure adherence of restrictions placed on use of parts and specifications including avoidance of using cancelled parts
• Updates SAP with new product (material master, proper settings from other groups, templates, costing, etc) including MRP areas
  • Bill of Material creation (couplings and components)
  • Update SAP settings as required as parts move from make to buy or vice versa
  • Correcting weight issues with product SAP/EDS
  • Maintain prints in SAP for SAP ME
  • Data preparation from SAP/BOBJ reporting software as needed
  • Set up subcontract materials/coordinate with purchasing and supply chain
• Communicates daily in-person and through email/chat with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner

Additional Information: This position does not offer relocation and is located in Menominee, MI This position requires 10% or less travel Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 3+ years of experience in a role with frequent computer usage
• Experience working on/with cross-functional teams
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

• Associate or Bachelor degree
• Experience in Availability & Inventory Management, Purchasing, Transportation & Engineering, Dealer Services, Storeroom, and/or Manufacturing
• Comfortable with & able to learn various software platforms
• General requirements planning knowledge
• Product and routing knowledge
• Experience with SAP
• Experience leading or coordinating projects and workflows
• Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma/lean project management principles
