Description
This Half-Time position will be responsible for a student advisory, and participate in middle school teaming. They will also teach beginning Hawaiian language to include sentence structure, vocabulary, and conversational skills. An introduction to Hula will also be taught to include mele, lei making and other traditional implements.

Position is for one-half time only. Salary will be one-half of the amount indicated on the posting.
Minimum Qualifications
The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. With the exception of designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) positions, the minimum qualification to apply for a teacher, librarian or counselor position is a Bachelor\'s Degree. However, the Department\'s Hiring Priority, and order in which candidates will be contacted, is as follows:

• Certified Teacher, Librarian or Counselor with a Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) License
• Certified Teacher, Librarian or Counselor without an HTSB License
• Minimum of Bachelor\'s Degree (No Teacher, Librarian or Counselor Preparation Program Completed)

**If you are hired without completing a Teacher\'s Education Program, you must enroll in a Program to continue employment with the Department.
