Job Description


We are currently seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the ECI team. This is an opportunity for an established Environmental Engineer to lead the project engineering and work with environmental scientists to provide a comprehensive range of services to our clients in civil and environmental engineering, and environmental consulting.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Perform work under limited supervision requiring the need to exercise independent judgement and discretion on a regular or frequent basis.

Serve as a lead/resource among team of colleagues to share technical proficiency, guidance, and mentorship.

Perform civil site design and plans including grading and drainage design, Erosion Control Plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for utility construction sites throughout the United States.

Assist or lead in the coordination with regulatory agencies, clients, and other professionals.

Maintain project documentation and correspondence.

Write, review, and edit construction specifications and engineering reports.

Perform plan reviews for code / regulatory compliance and to assure project specifications are met.

Prioritize projects and daily workload to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Conduct periodic site visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress of work as required.

Assist with preparing reports, narratives, development applications, submittal documents, and response letters.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in environmental engineering or related field.

Registered as a Professional Engineer.

Experience with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Civil3D, HydroCAD, or other hydrological software packages in a professional or academic setting.

High competency reading construction plans.

Open Channel & Detention Basin Modeling and Design.

Experience researching zoning, development standards, development review processes, compliance matters, regulations, and standards.

Ability to multi-task and coordinate on multiple projects, with multiple clients and sub-consultants.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects).

WHAT WOULD BE AMAZING TO HAVE:

Four to six (4-6) years of experience in civil engineering, land/site development, and/or utility construction preferred.

Land Development engineering experience and skills; large- and small-scale drainage and BMP design preferred.

Working Environment

Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions. Physical

The team member must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment; to walk up to 10 miles per day, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand, arm and shoulder movement in the performance of daily duties (e.g., forcefully beat down brush); carry, push and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. (sandbags); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with public; ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction; operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.
