AECOM has a career opportunity for a full-time Environmental Inspector to be based in the Connecticut Area. This is a full-time field position overseeing the environmental permit condition compliance on electric transmission construction projects.

We are seeking science and engineering/construction professionals with 4 years of professional environmental inspection/monitoring experience on linear construction projects. An ideal candidate will have recent environmental field compliance and construction oversight background, with focused experience on overhead and underground electric transmission projects, relating to working in and near wetlands and water bodies. Natural gas, other pipeline or comparable stormwater compliance oversight experience also acceptable. Connecticut experience ideal. Working knowledge of New England environmental regulations, particularly Connecticut DEEP Construction Stormwater General Permit compliance is key to this position.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• This position requires a BS in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Ecology or related field.
• 4+ years of prior experience in environmental compliance monitoring, environmental surveys and studies.
• Due to the nature of the position US Citizenship is required.
• Valid Driver\'s License and must be able to pass AECOM\'s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ Years of Inspection experience. Service years negotiable for individuals meeting the CT DEEP Construction Stormwater General Permit \xe2\x80\x9cQualified Inspector\xe2\x80\x9d definition.
• Certification as CPESC, CESSWI, or PWS.
• Strong preference for prior experience as an EI supporting linear construction (electric transmission, oil and gas, transportation, etc.) with a focus on CT and New England.
• Ability to be stationed at or proximal to project site for extended periods.
• OSHA 40-hour trained.
• Demonstrable experience in environmental compliance monitoring, environmental surveys and studies.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work well as part of a project team and ability to travel.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
