Environmental Technician II - Kuparuk, AK

Job Summary

The Environmental Technician II will be primarily responsible for spill response, spot clean up, soil sampling, and incipient fire response. This role will support the NPR-A Willow Project on the North Slope.

Responsibilities

• Maintains systematic processes to manage critical compliance data.

• Collaborates with other functions to develop and maintain user friendly systems for information gathering/sharing.

• Administrates data gathering, compliance related recordkeeping, data quality assurance, auditing and other field compliance verification activities.

• Conducts field work such as spill cleanup and soil/waste sampling.

• Confirms equipment identification and location, and participate in other field environmental activities such as release observations/oversight in developing experience.

• Provides more technical/functional support than administrative support.
• Performs varied and more complex tasks. Makes decisions within broad parameters.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License

• 3-7 years of related north slope experience required.

• Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of technology, applications, terminology, and procedures required of job function.

Scope Summary

Located on Alaskas North Slope in the National Petroleum Reserve (NPR-A), the Willow project is estimated to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day at its peak. The economic impact of the Willow project will be sizable. According to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) estimates, Willow could generate between $8 billion and $17 billion in new revenue for the federal government, the state of Alaska, the North Slope Borough, and local communities. The initial phase of Willow development will include a new Willow Central Processing Facility (WCF), three drill sites, pipelines, roads, bridges and supporting infrastructure.
