Nature of WorkThis position is funded by the Bureau for Behavioral Health\'s (BBH) SAMHSA Cooperative Agreement to improve 988 capacities and will be dedicated to the bureau\'s multiple sub-grants related to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a critical component of the state\'s and nation\'s behavioral health crisis system that provides free 24/7 universal access to trained crisis counselors and linkages to needed services. This position will improve 988 programmatic reporting by assisting BBH program staff and WV 988 center staff with developing performance measures, improving data collection (e.g. demographic data and details of service referrals), recommend data collection tools or systems or changes to existing ones, analyze data and prepare and present data reports as well as identify trends using multiple data sources, and train BBH and WV 988 staff, providers, and partners on data collection, data system use, analyzing data, and preparing data reports. A Master\'s degree with a major in Mathematics OR a Bachelor\'s degree in mathematics and two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in conducting epidemiology, including disease investigation, risk assessment, or environmental epidemiology or conducting collection and assessment of qualitative and quantitative data for research in epidemiology and prevention services may substitute for the required training.State employment offers a variety of benefits.
