Visionary Executive Director who leads and grows the organization in achieving its mission. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in non-profit management, grant management, event planning, and resource development. The grant-funded Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the continued success of oral health programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grant Management:
- Identify, research, and pursue grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all application requirements and deadlines.
- Manage received and distributed grant budgets, monitor fund utilization, and provide comprehensive reports to funders/AROHC Executive Council.
- Ensure effective tracking and evaluation of program components to measure success.
2. Event Planning:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the oral health summit, fundraising events, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities.
- Develop event budgets, timelines, and communications strategies to maximize participation and support.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
- Evaluate event outcomes and adapt strategies for future events.
3. Resource Development:
- Create and curate resources that support oral health programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop engaging and informative materials, including brochures, websites, and educational materials.
- Explore innovative approaches to resource development, such as online platforms and partnerships with local organizations.
- Continuously update and improve resources based on feedback and evolving needs.
4. Oral Health Acumen:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with AROHC members and Executive Council to identify oral health policy and programming needs and develop strategies for addressing them.
- Maintain awareness of oral health data related to oral health burden in Arkansas.
- Cultivate conversations with those with lived experience of oral disease/access barriers.
5. Organizational Management
- Oversee business operations, financial operations, annual budgets, banking, attention to checks and balances, and communication/coordination with AROHC members.
- Oversee AROHC communications through website, social media, and other forms of media.
- Advocate for AROHC on all levels: public, private, and legislative.
Work Environment
:
This is an Arkansas-based remote position with some paid travel. The Executive Director is expected to occasionally travel to visit partners and other organizations and attend in-state and out-of-state conferences. AROHC will provide a laptop for remote work.
Qualifications
:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; masters preferred.
- Proven track record in grant management and facilitation, securing grants, and managing budgets.
- Strong event planning and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in resource development and content creation.
- Knowledge of oral health and health systems change initiatives and community health issues.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Leadership and team-building skills.
- Passion for improving the health and well-being of Arkansans.
