Job Summary:


The Arizona Attorney General's Office Child and Family Protection Division is seeking a Unit Office Administrator for the Child and Family Protection Division, Protective Services Section. This position will supervise the legal support staff of a Unit and is responsible for the office administrator functions, staffing duties, and all other administrative needs of the unit.




Remote Options: This position may be eligible for Remote Work two days a week.


Job Duties:


This position supervises the legal support staff and is responsible for the office administrator functions, staffing duties, and all other administrative needs of the unit. This position will have a close working relationship with the unit support staff and attorneys, as well as operating staff such as procurement, accounting, payroll, facilities, and information services. This position manages the hiring and training for the assigned unit and oversees the functions and duties of the support staff such that all needs of the AAGs and courts are met, and manages legal processes such as pleading work and calendar schedules. This position has a full understanding of the section operations and section reports.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):


Knowledge

Supervisory principles and practices. Principles of public administration, organization and management; personnel, supervision, training, procedures and processes of state agency functions. Organizational and functional structure of state agency; methods and techniques involved in conducting analytical studies of administrative and management practices, methods and procedures. Practical application of computers and peripheral equipment; inventory control and space management.


Skill

Directing a comprehensive administrative services program for an organization; handling complex analytical and managerial work. Effective leadership skills Managing, coaching, planning and organizing work activities for subordinate staff. Problem solving skills Managing paralegal and legal secretary duties including but not limited to file preparation for various litigation functions.


Ability

Perform duties independently or under minimal supervision; research, analyze, and make recommendations on administrative management and procedural practices. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Identify and resolve issues. Develop and train subordinate staff in following procedures and instructions for administrative activities. Effectively communicate orally and in writing. Proficiency in a variety of computer programs.

Selective Preference(s):


The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and at least five years of advancing employment in a legal office. A paralegal certification through an institutionally accredited program may substitute for two years of full-time employment in a legal office.



Pre-Employment Requirements:


Travel may be required for this position. A valid Arizona Driver's License is required, along with consent to have your driving record run periodically. All applicants under serious consideration for hire with the Attorney General's Office are required to be fingerprinted by the Office and complete a criminal background check through State and Federal agencies.
