The Role:As an XD Discovery Lead, you\xe2\x80\x99ll play a critical role in the discovery and definition of Cigna digital experience. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work in a highly collaborative environment with Product & Engineering peers to rapidly define, test and iterate your way to successful in-market product experiences. Your expertise in design strategy will be key in creating both an exceptional digital experience for healthcare customers and an organizational case study of how human-centered innovation methods can be successfully used in highly complex, regulated industries. In this player-coach role, you will lead by example, while also mentoring and growing your cross-functional team, driving creative excellence, and fostering a collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and drive the experience design strategy for Cigna\xe2\x80\x99s digital experiences for healthcare customers, aligning it with business goals and user needs.Lead the end-to-end design process, from user research and concept development to prototyping and user testing \xe2\x80\x93 emphasizing the impact of focused, problem-focused teams.Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including business, product management, engineering, and marketing to integrate experience design with strategy and technology.Develop experience design artifacts (including but not limited to user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes) to communicate design vision.Provide mentorship and direction to the experience design team, promoting a culture of human-centeredness, growth, feedback, and continuous learning.Stay abreast of trends and advances in experience design and virtual healthcare, integrating innovative ideas and practices.Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, guiding the team through complex problem-solving challenges.Utilize organizational skills to manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams, balancing priorities effectively.Lead and facilitate in-person and virtual workshops and design thinking sessions with senior leaders, stakeholders, and external partners.Encourage a culture of experimentation and validation through data, iterating on design solutions based on user feedback and analytics.Qualifications:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Design, HCI, or related field; Master\xe2\x80\x99s preferred.At least 5+ years of professional experience in experience design strategy and delivery, with 2+ years in a leadership role. Proven experience in designing complex, user-centric applications or services in highly fragmented, regulated industries.Strong portfolio showcasing design strategy work and innovative design solutions.Exceptional leadership skills with a player-coach mentality and an ability to inspire a team.Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex issues that require collaborative evaluation and alignment.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of successful cross-functional partnerships.Proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.Experience with design thinking and facilitatingExperience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.Why Join Us?By joining Cigna, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of an organization that values innovation, user experience, and health and wellness.
