Fabrication Manager

Job Description

The Fabrication Manager coordinates and monitors projects of clients, while supporting a team in the Northlake, Illinois facility. In this role, the Fabrication Manager will work with sales, production, and account team to establish project timelines and discuss with department heads to support purchasing, production, quality, and shipping for each project.

Responsibilities:



Communicates with internal team and external clients and vendor suppliers to maintain good relationships and ensure each project meets design specifications, quality standards and delivery commitments Prepares specifications and SketchUp drawings to meet client requirements and support production Provides leadership in the coordination and prioritization of projects based on strategic importance, outstanding tasks, obstacles or barriers to completion, budgets, resources, and deadlines Monitors and evaluates the activities required for successful project completion. Sets and manages client expectations, while providing regular and timely updates of project status to department Addresses concerns and questions regarding designs, drawings, production planning and progress, completion, and delivery Evaluates with team on customer design changes and specification revisions; determines impacts on material requirements and costs, fabrication, and delivery schedules; and prepares, reviews, obtains approval of, and implements appropriate engineering change orders and drawing revisions Assists sales department in preparation of project estimates Performs other duties as assigned

Education:



Bachelor's degree

Experience:



3+ years experience in Fabrication Management 1-2 years experience managing staff

Skills:



Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Must possess organizational and consistent follow-thru skills Must have excellent time management skills Exemplary written and verbal communication skills Extremely detail oriented with ability to create, utilize, and manage organization templates, timelines, calendars, and key documents Ability to multi-task, prioritize work to meet critical deadlines and take direction from multiple people Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to all levels of the organization as well as to external customers and/or vendors Resourceful and have ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a timely and efficient manner Must be able to develop, analyze, organize, implement, and execute work procedures Flexibility, versatility, and willingness to take on a wide range of responsibilities and maintain effective processes within a seasoned account

Schedule:
