Job Description


The Michigan Milk Producers Association is looking for a Farm Supply Store Manager to join our team, in our Mt. Pleasant facility. The Manager of the Farm Supply Store is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the warehouse and ensuring that all orders placed through all channels are processed accurately and delivered in a timely manner. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to maintain accurate inventory and transaction records. The Manager will lead the warehouse team, manage logistics, and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service.About Us:The Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) - established in 1916 - is a dairy farmer-owned and operated milk marketing cooperative and dairy processor. As the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the U.S., MMPA serves dairy farmers throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana, employing approximately 625 people in four states. In addition to a cheese plant in Indiana called the Middlebury Cheese Company, and a dairy product plant in Ohio called Superior Dairy, MMPA operates two SQF Level 3 dairy ingredient plants in Michigan. JOB RESPONSIBILITIESWarehouse Operations:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that inventory is accurately received, stored, and managed in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate the picking, packing, and shipping of orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for warehouse safety and efficiency.
ERP Management:
  • Maintain accurate records in the farm supply store\'s ERP system, including inventory levels, order processing, and shipping information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to reorder stock as needed.
  • Ensure that all data entered into the ERP system is accurate and up-to-date, facilitating smooth operations and accurate reporting.
Order Processing:
  • Manage the fulfillment of online and telephone orders, ensuring that customer requests are processed promptly and accurately.
  • Work closely with the customer service team to address any issues or concerns related to order fulfillment and delivery.
  • Monitor order trends and collaborate with the procurement team to ensure product availability.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the warehouse team, including warehouse workers and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues.
  • Ensure that the team is trained in warehouse operations, safety procedures, and ERP system usage.
Logistics Management:
  • Coordinate with shipping and logistics providers to ensure that products are delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Monitor shipping costs and optimize logistics processes to reduce expenses and improve efficiency.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping or delivery delays.
Inventory Control:
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy between physical stock and ERP records.
  • Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, or theft.
  • Work with the finance team to reconcile inventory records with financial statements.
Customer Service:
  • Ensure that customer inquiries related to orders and products are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Work with the customer service team to resolve any issues or complaints regarding order fulfillment.
  • Strive to enhance customer satisfaction by improving warehouse operations.
Work Environment:
  • The position is based in an office and warehouse environment with a significant portion of time spent on the warehouse floor
  • Some physical activity is required, including lifting, and moving products.
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet with suppliers or customers
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a related field, with experience in a managerial role
  • ERP experience, Microsoft AX or D365 preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills which includes the ability to effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook
