Job purpose Alaska Garden and Pet Supply Feed Mill division is seeking an individual to effectively and efficiently manufacture high quality feed in a timely manner. This position focuses on producing high quality feed. Qualified individuals must have a positive attitude toward safety, sales, customer service and employee team-work. This position has opportunity for growth within the company.

Duties and responsibilities

• Bag & Sew bags of feed produced from the mill.
• Daily cleaning inside of feed mill and load-out areas, outside feed storage area, and computer area.
• Does weekly feed label order.
• Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assigned tasks.
• Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• 0-3 years feed mill experience
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED required
• Ability to apply common sense understanding, receive instructions, which can be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Preferred: Lock and Out Tag Out Certified (in house certification)
• Preferred: Forklift Trained (in house certification)
• Willing to work in a non-smoking facility.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
• Requires high level of physical activity for 8-10 hours a day.
• Position requires standing/walking on hard surface for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, crouch, reach overhead and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in a dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Working Relationship Works closely with Feed Mill Manager and other feed mill and warehouse employees. Requires ability to work as a team player with all company employees and management.
