The position of Financial Cost Analyst is within our Toxicology business unit and can be located in Lake Forest, IL, San Diego, CA, or Pomona, CA. The scope of this position is responsible for the month-end closing and financial reporting, FP&A and the budgeting and forecasting process, implementing and tracking of company policies and controls in financial functions, and other administrative services for the Operations side of the business. Direct responsibility over complex accounting, forecasting, and reconciliations for site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support all month-end closing and financial reporting processes. Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of general ledger transactions \xe2\x80\x93 analysis of accounting treatment, GL posting, account reconciliation, reporting, internal controls, etc.
• Support all FP&A processes. Lead quarterly LBE process, annual Plan process, and annual Standards setting process. Complete monthly variance analysis.
• Ensure timely closure of the monthly accounting process including preparation and input of journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of G/L accounts, and maintenance of computerized accounting system.
• Prepare financial statements and other financial reports as needed in accordance with GAAP and Corporate.
• Assist in the audit and corporate financial statement as required by corporate management, and in compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and maintain records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
• Provide information, reports and presentations as requested by Plant Controller, Finance Director, Site Director, and other leadership. Provide monthly financial reports to internal department heads.
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
• Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.
• Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :

• BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 \xe2\x80\x93 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Financial Planning & Analysis / General Accounting

COMPETENCIES:

• Strong Microsoft Excel understanding
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and cost systems
• Complex understanding and creative experience using various reporting tools including MS office suite
• Understanding the functionality of an ERP system
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
