Job Description

The Division of Fleet Operations is looking for someone with strong communication and organization skills to provide support to the division and our customers while learning all about our vehicle purchasing program in preparation to take on those duties in the future. If you\'re a self-starter who can work unsupervised and exercise initiative, discretion and judgement in making important decisions, this could be the position for you!.Principal Duties
As the Fleet Purchasing Agent, you will:

• Quality control of the Fleet database.
• Issuing vehicles to customer agencies.
• Processing state-owned assets for the surplus process.
• Work closely with the current purchasing agents and provide support where needed.
• Oversee warranty work.
• Procuring new vehicles and equipment for State use.

The Best Qualified Candidate
The best candidate for the position will have:

• Experience establishing, organizing, tracking and maintaining files or cases in a clear and concise manner.
• Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
• Experience with high dollar purchasing
• Experience using research methods, techniques, and multiple sources of information.
• Experience entering and managing data in databases.
• A background in large fleet settings such as government fleets or rental fleets.
• A knowledge of principles and business practices related to the Automotive industry.
• Excellent customer service and listening skills.
• The ability to follow written and/or oral instruction with precision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to conceptualize, evaluate and implement process improvements.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a high propensity for detail.
• The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
• The ability to learn, adapt, and adjust to new job assignments.
