This position operates on a four-weeks on, two-weeks off, fly-in, fly-out rotation to our Red Dog operations. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian OR U.S post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed).Teck will provide support in obtaining a valid visa to perform work in the United States. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States and all offers will be subject to obtaining legal authorization. Red Dog Operations is one of the world\'s largest zinc mines, located about 170 kilometers (105 miles) north of the Arctic Circle in northwest Alaska, near Kotzebue. Red Dog is an open-pit truck-and-loader operation, using conventional drill and blast mining methods. Concentrates produced at Red Dog are shipped to our metallurgical facilities in Trail, British Columbia, and to customers in Asia and Europe. The current mine life, based on existing developed deposits, is expected to extend through to 2031.This position operates on a four-weeks on, two-weeks off, fly-in, fly-out rotation, providing an excellent work-life balance. All transportation (including charter flights from Anchorage, Alaska to the mine site), accommodation, and food will be covered for the duration of the work term. On-site living accommodations also have many amenities to make life at the mine very comfortable.
