Famous Original J\xe2\x80\x99s Pizza is an authentic New York City-style slice shop. Located in Denver\xe2\x80\x99s historic Five Points neighborhood, the pizzeria was the only fast casual restaurant included in the Denver Post\xe2\x80\x99s \xe2\x80\x9c10 Best New Restaurants\xe2\x80\x9d list when it opened. The 260-square-foot restaurant resides on the patio of the 715 Club adjacent to the original Rosenberg\xe2\x80\x99s Bagels, with a second walk-up window on the corner of Welton St. and 26th Ave. Famous Original J\xe2\x80\x99s Pizza uses the same technology that differentiates Rosenberg\xe2\x80\x99s Bagels by replicating New York City\xe2\x80\x99s legendary water. A proprietary filtration system uses reverse osmosis to strip Denver tap water of its minerals, then reintroduces them in the same specific proportions found in New York, which contributes to the strength of the gluten in the dough, resulting in authentic, perfectly crispy-yet-chewy pizza crust.
We are seeking a talented Full-time Lead Team Member to join our dynamic team in our open kitchen. As a key member of our culinary hospitality team, you will not only be responsible for preparing delicious authentic New York style pies, salads and sides but you will also be expected to engage with our customers, answer their questions about the food, provide samples, take orders, provide assistance with online orders, and even deliver food to customers when needed. This position requires someone who is skilled in both culinary arts and customer service, with a strong desire to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities & Duties:
Customer Engagement-
Greet guests, and handle transactions
Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere
Actively answer customer questions about the food, ingredients, and cooking techniques, providing detailed and accurate information
Offer samples of dishes to customers, showcasing the quality and flavors of our cuisine
Assist customers in placing their orders, recommending menu items based on their preferences
Serve the patio area as well as taking orders at the walk up window
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that customers have a memorable dining experience
Culinary Expertise-
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and guidelines, ensuring quality and consistency
Wash and chop vegetables (for example, tomatoes, peppers, onions and mushrooms)
Follow proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards at all times
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely food preparation
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Lead Duties-
Informs personnel of any menu or pricing changes, shortages, specials, or other factors that relate to food production or service
Responsible for maintaining and balancing the cash drawer, verifying cashier cash transfers, and maintaining electronic documents needed to create daily reports
Ensure that the restaurant meets and exceeds quality and service standards at all times.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in compliance with local health regulations.
Handles guest feedback
Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among the staff.
Support the leadership of the team and complete tasks as assigned
Ensure that guests receive exceptional service and address any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
Pizza cook & guest services experience
Hands-on experience with preparing/baking pizzas, and taking care of guests
Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and point of sales
Understanding and practice of good restaurant hygiene
Good time-management skills
Team spirit
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evening
Preferences:
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
