The Fuel Service Technician reports directly to the Facilities Manager and supports operations through a variety of means such as maintaining and servicing fuel service systems and conducting electrical and mechanical work to new and ongoing projects throughout the state of Alaska.
The ideal candidate has a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform IT, mechanical and structural repairs to fuel related facilities
Install, troubleshoot and service convenience store networking, including running cable, programming routers, and establishing connectivity to credit networks
Install, calibrate, test fuel dispenser and associated equipment
Install, program, and service point of sale systems for convenience stores
Troubleshoot, repair, and service fuel dispenser and associated equipment
Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and annual certification of fuel station equipment
Read, interpret and follow instructions and operations manuals
Observe and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
Perform the job duties in a safe and sensible manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulations
When necessary, respond to emergency repairs and provide afterhours support for Terminal Operations

Knowledge of fuel dispensing equipment
Knowledge of fuel operations
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Ability to travel within the state of Alaska 70%+
Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Training & Certificates:
Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department.
Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be loud on occasion requiring the use of ear protection. Work is usually done in an industrial setting; warehouse or shop and sometimes out-of-doors in inclement weather conditions requiring the use of personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to; a reflective vest, steel toed boots, and safety glasses with side shields. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
The employee must be able to physically travel by air within, and out of, the State of Alaska.
