• Install, program, and train customers on the safe operation and maintenance of advanced CNC gear machines, including hobbing, shaping, shaving, grinding, and honing.
• Set up machines with customer tooling and fixtures, advising on optimal cutting conditions for maximum efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and independently repair mechanical and electrical issues on-site, leveraging your expertise in root cause analysis.
• Document problems, troubleshooting steps, and solutions through clear and concise reports.
• Perform preventative maintenance and train customers on PM schedules to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Install new machine software and PLC/PMC logic, with the ability to write minor ladder logic as needed.
• Collaborate with manufacturer engineers, continuously expanding your knowledge and documenting procedures to train others.
• Develop diagnostic and corrective procedures with the technical services team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Self-teach on new control systems to stay ahead of the curve and train personnel and customers effectively.
• Promote our preventative maintenance programs and machine products, showcasing your expertise and enthusiasm.
• Provide phone support when not dispatched on-site, ensuring seamless customer service.
• Support interdepartmental projects and train junior technicians, sharing your wealth of knowledge.

Your Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on machine tool field service experience, with a proven track record of success.
• Formal training or certification in mechatronics, industrial maintenance, CNC programming, or related fields.
• Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and PLC/control systems troubleshooting, with a keen eye for detail.
• Prior experience training customers and technicians on machine operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with equipment documentation and technical writing, with strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and ladder logic, with a natural aptitude for problem-solving.
• Basic PLC programming and ladder logic editing capabilities, with a desire to continuously learn and grow.
• Comfort with computer applications like MS Office and remote support tools, with a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
• Excellent documentation and report writing skills, ensuring clear and concise communication.
• A passion for industrial machinery, manufacturing processes like gear cutting, and cutting-edge automation systems.
• Eagerness to work with advanced CNC equipment and embrace new challenges.
• Satisfaction derived from effectively training others and sharing knowledge.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed for service calls.
• Willingness to travel extensively across North America for extended periods.
