We offer our guests tours, experiences, events. birthday parties, Alpaca yoga, summer day camps, an on-site and an online gift shop, and birthday parties and celebrations Winchester Creek Farm is looking for an independent, creative, detail oriented, and hard working animal lover to join our expanding team and grow with our business. This position will assist in providing the highest quality care for our many loved animals (Alpacas, Llamas, Miniature Horses & Donkeys, Mini Cows, Mini Pigs, Sheep, Goats, Dogs, and more), provide the highest level of professionalism and kindness to our guests on farm tours and experiences, help to assist guests in our retail gift shop, and help with a variety of other duties on the farm. We are looking for an energetic and self-starter candidates to work 16+hours per week. Hours required: Must be able to work weekends (both Saturday & Sunday) and a flexible schedule, hours will vary depending on tours/events and business demands, but hours scheduled will be between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, weekends and holidays are required for this position due to the nature of our business. Note that hours are subject to change and holiday work is required due to business demands. 16-25 hours per week. Duties would include:
Assist in our on-site gift shop doing retail sales, packaging online orders, pricing & stocking products, assisting & ringing up customer orders, making gift baskets, arranging displays, and cleaning.
Assist guests with questions in the gift shop and over the phone.
Assist with Farm Tours, Experiences, and Events.
Assist with planning, promoting, decorating, set-up, hosting, and clean-up before, during, and after tours, events, or experiences
Assist in various animal care duties and cleaning as needed
Assist with gardens, planters, and flower beds
Assist in keeping barns, feed areas, and public spaces organized, stocked, swept, and clean.
Various other miscellaneous jobs as required.
Qualifications for this position:
Ability to work with our guests in a polite and professional manner.
Must have experience in a retail environment and able to conduct retail transactions accurately, assist customers with purchases, have a creative eye for creating displays and assembling gift baskets, and familiarity with POS systems.
Assisting with tours or demonstrations to the public, planning and event management and/or boutique retail experience a huge plus.
Must be an animal lover with a big heart and kind demeanor toward animals. We only use positive reinforcement with our animals.
Must enjoy and be able to work outdoors in the elements for extended periods.
Must be able to be on your feet and physically active for extended hours.
Must learn our tour protocols and learn and research on each breed of our animals to be knowledgeable and informative during tours and events.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, and ability to follow protocols established for the farm.
Experience with horses and Alpacas a huge plus.
Ability to work as part of a team and with our customers and guests with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Dependable, our animals and guests count on us.
A natural storyteller with an enthusiasm for natural, animals, and the outdoors.
Able to work independently, with a keen eye for detail to get things done.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license with no major citations in the last 24 months.
