The Division of Forestry and Fire Protection is hiring for a full-time GIS Analyst 3 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Under general guidance from the Division GIS Analyst 4, serve as a GIS Analyst 3 for the GIS Section. This includes designing and developing web applications, administering the Division of Forestry and Fire Protection online presence and spatial data, creating workflows for report automation, solving specific problems in relation to GIS, investigating new technologies and train/support division GIS Analysts 1/2.

• Geospatial Science - Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods related to the collection, storage, analysis, visualization, and distribution of geographic based data and maps.

• Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one\'s job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in geographic information systems (GIS) operations, data collection, cartography, computer science, geography, or related field.
