Global Quality Data Steward

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Global Quality Data Steward, are to:

  • Ensure data quality for critical elements in Product Supply Quality data domain;
  • Includes supporting and aligning key meta information (ex. definitions, rules/governance, data models), identifying owners, and project requirement facilitation;
  • Develop and deploy capabilities for data profiling and data quality metrics to support enablement of digital strategy and inclusion of key data KPI\'s at leadership level;
  • Support establishing goals, monitoring, scorecards, and improvement plans;
  • Responsible for ownership and management of legacy systems data for storage and availably of data at system change level;
  • Responsible for automating data movement, data validations, data quality and data governance activities;
  • Responsible for regular evaluation of digital development, implication on the Quality data management, data technology implications, improvements and more;
  • Responsible for implementing principles and policies to effectively govern Crop Science Product Supply Quality data, supporting compliance and security of key data and provides input on potential risks;
  • Administer efficient processes to capture, maintain and monitor all metadata and associate modelling of toolsets;
  • Support enablement of Product Supply Quality data governance policies and strategies;
  • Facilitates engagement between strategic and operational components of the governance model;
  • Support key areas of various project initiatives (ex. S/4 HANA), outreach to enterprise teams (ex. MDM Office), and serve as a key resource in the data digitization strategy for Global Quality;
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to refine the data landscape, defining resource needs, and benefits;
  • Support organizational awareness and training to raise the data business acumen for Product Supply Quality organization;
  • Influence and support product supply data stewardship COE organizations by domain area to ensure partnership with our regional/functional stakeholders;
  • Ensure data life cycle and access framework established as part of ongoing operations;
  • Analyse data and identify risk areas (regional level implications) and recommend solutions for stakeholders within and across all functions of R&D, Product Supply & Commercial that consume Quality Data Sets;
  • Facilitate and participate in cross regional and cross functional Data governance Communities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, or agriculture);
  • Experience supporting data governance, data quality programs, and/or data profiling capabilities;
  • Knowledge of Bayer ERP, data domains, and business use cases;
  • Experience working with referential data, data catalogue and relational database modelling concepts;
  • Experience in data wrangling with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, data processing technology (like Oracle, Redshift, Python, and/or Snowflake);
  • Experience working with data management and visualization tools like Tableau;
  • Experience profiling data, summarizing, and reporting data quality metrics;
  • Understanding and experience of working with different enterprise-wide data sets including master data (product, customer etc.) and transactional data (sales, CRM data etc.); and systems that maintain these data sets;
  • Experience with modern data engineering technologies and principles to manage data using APIs and Cloud technologies;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to coach, demonstrate, and lead data management best practices at all levels of the organization;
  • Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields;
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, be highly organized and able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a cross functional team;
  • Be self-motivated and proactive;
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse organizational and global stakeholder groups.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting data governance, data quality programs, and/or data profiling capabilities is desired.
