Summary of Job Duties: The Graduate Assistant/Wellness Ambassador will assist the Wellness and Inclusion units in their outreach efforts, educational programs, and marketing initiatives. The Graduate Assistant/Wellness Ambassador will play a vital role in promoting health, mental well-being, and disability awareness across the campus community. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
Regular admission to a graduate degree program or good standing with the Graduate School for continuing graduate students;
Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Market Wellness and Inclusion departments;
Help staff with Wellness and Inclusion events;
Assist in designing and maintaining Counseling Services (CS), Disability Resouce Center (DRC), Health Services (HS), and Safe Zone (SZ) websites;
Plan, organize, and conduct outreach programs and events aimed at promoting overall health and well-being among students, staff, and faculty;
Develop and facilitate educational workshops on topics such as stress management, mental health, nutrition, physical fitness, disability awareness, and self-care;
Create promotional materials, such as posters, brochures, and social media content, to advertise upcoming events and services offered by the three departments;
Establish and maintain partnerships with student organizations, campus departments, and local community groups to enhance the impact and reach of health promotion initiatives;
Ensure that all wellness promotions and events are accessible and inclusive;
Manage social media accounts using platforms like Facebook and Instagram to engage and educate the campus community about health and wellness topics;
Provide office coverage as needed (greet visitors, answer phones, and provide appropriate information);
Run errands on campus as needed;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on a deadline;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Skillful at creating and distributing health promotions and marketing materials for social media;
Video editing and graphic design skills;
Ability to work independently.
Additional Information:
Salary Information: $8,000 stipend per year
