Schedule Information: Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Hours per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Work is primarily indoors and sedentary in nature. This position is a one year appointment.

Duties of Position: Responsible for researching potential funders, identifying grant opportunities, and developing grant applications. Collaborates with faculty, administrators, and staff in developing and transforming ideas into competitive grant proposals. Writes and edits grant proposals and other documents; coordinates with external funders and funding agencies; and assists in the transition of awarded projects to appropriate Grants Office staff.

Leads and/or supports the writing and submission of complex and technical government and foundation grants, working in partnership with the Senior Director of Innovation and Development, Grants Administration Managers, Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Innovation, and key faculty and staff across the college.

Actively engages in funder/prospect research by identifying potential funding sources; maintains database of funders, opportunities, and awards; creates and maintains organizational information boilerplate language; recommends potential funders and solicitation strategies to Senior Director.

Reads proposal guidelines and prepares grant opportunity overviews; identifies and coordinates meeting schedules for proposal development project teams; provides technical assistance to faculty and staff concerning funding opportunities for programs, projects, and initiatives that support the College\'s mission, vision, and Strategic Plan.

Develops, designs, writes, and edits concept papers, letters of interest/inquiry, and grant applications; develops and finalizes competitive grant proposals, including abstracts, project narratives, budget and budget justifications, financial documentation, and other supporting documentation in a timely manner to meet grant application deadlines.

Manages proposal development timelines, ensuring appropriate reviews and approvals of proposal materials are secured and that submissions occur by the application deadlines; supports faculty, administrators, and staff in the planning and development of proposals.

Assists with the transition of awarded projects from pre-award to post-award in an organized and collaborative process; supports Grants Administration Managers to coordinate and compile necessary documents to efficiently close out grant programs.

Performs administrative support activities for the Grants Office and Innovation Accelerator, including but not limited to, preparing reports, drafting correspondence, updating grant tracking system, and scheduling meetings.

Monitors online publications for changes in legislative, regulatory, and other issues affecting higher education institutions and grant funding opportunities.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent required, advanced degree preferred. Combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions.

Experience Requirements: Three years\' of experience writing and securing grant funding in higher education required. Experience in higher education, proposal development, and/or grant administration required. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and collaborate with multiple personnel involved in these projects in accordance with College objectives, policies, and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently as well as establish and maintain collaborative relationships with project teams. Advanced computer skills, including ability to gather and manipulate complex data and experience with a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
