The Groundskeeping Supervisor I supervises and is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of grounds in parks, playgrounds or other areas surrounding public buildings and facilities; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information: There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Parks and Recreation, Park Maintenance and Recreation Services Division, located in Kaneohe.
Under general supervision of the Park Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, this position supervises the maintenance staff and upkeeps grounds and facilities. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervising, planning assignments, directing the work of small equipment operators and grounds keepers in the care and maintenance of parks and playgrounds; overseeing work of the weekend crew.
Traveling to conduct inspections of all assigned areas for adequacy of work, planning and scheduling work, and determining the need for repairs and improvements.
Operating 3/4 ton truck to check parks and maintenance staff and pickup and transport supplies and equipment.
Special Working Conditions: Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Will serve as a Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid driver\'s license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
